CUT TO:
INT. COURTROOM- HOLLYWOOD, CA-MORNING
Carmen is standing right across from the head of Snake Snapper, John Wilde.
JUDGE
Does the defendant have anything to say?
JOHN WILDE
Yes, we do. We as the Snake Snapper corporate are all about business. Joe was part of our company, once.
CARMEN
My father would never be a part of your mass murder fest.
JOHN WILDE
Apparently, you didn’t know your father well.
The judge slams the gavel on the sound-block.
JUDGE
Mr. Wilde, that’s enough. Ms. Swanson, do you have any evidence?
CARMEN
Your honor, I found my father dead on his living room floor in 2009. I know “Snake Snapper” did it because one of the men dropped their badge.
Carmen tries to fight back tears. She hands the badge to the security to show the judge.
JUDGE
Hmmm, well well well. Anything you need to say, Mr. Wilde?
John Wilde looks down and scratches his head.
JOHN WILDE
The Snake Snapper Company is a legal, certified company. Joe Swanson was part of my company. I’m not the bad guy.
CARMEN
You don’t know anything about my father! (Screaming)
JOHN WILDE
He deserved to die! I told him if he can dig himself his own grave he might as well lay in it!
Carmen puts her hands over her mouth in shock in disgust. The judge slams the gavel on the sound-block.
JUDGE
Silence! Silence! Case closed. Defendant owes Ms. Swanson $250 for damage of the house and $50 for emotional distress.
Ms. Swanson grabs her folder and quickly walks out the court. John Wilde runs to catch up to her.
JOHN WILDE
Hey, can we talk?
CARMEN
Nope.
Carmen starts walking faster to get away from John. He quickly grabs her arm.
CARMEN
Let go of me!
JOHN WILDE
I have a plan. Meet me later at the Snake Snapper tonight and I will tell you all you need to know about your father. He was part of this company, whether you want to believe it or not. I will prove it. John pulls out his credit card and hands it to Carmen.
CARMEN
(sighs)
Fine. But you better not have anything up your sleeves.
JOHN WILDE
Trust me, I don’t.
John puts his hands up to surrender.
CARMEN
What time?
JOHN WILDE
8 o clock.
CARMEN
This better not be a trick.
JOHN WILDE
(laughs)
None here.
John steps back and walks off. Carmen just stares at him till he is out the door. Carmen’s two sisters soon come running after her.
Camilla
Good job out there.
Crystal
Yeah, you were tough.
Carmen
Thanks.
Camilla
So what are you going to do now?
Carmen
I think I’ll just go on a walk.
Crystal
Okay, suit your self.
Camilla
Be strong.
Camilla and Crystal walk away.
Carmen then walks out the building and across the street. She looks both ways before entering a gun shop. There is a man in his mid thirties with brown hair and soft brown eyes standing behind the counter. His nametag reads “Fred”.
Carmen
Gimme the best you got.
The man turns around and picks out a hand gun. Once he finds a good one he slides in toward Carmen.
Fred
Colt 1873
Carmen looks down at the gun and nods her head. The man starts packaging the gun and he glances at Carmen.
Fred
Soo, why a pretty girl like you buying a gun?
Carmen
Revenge.
Fred
No kidding, this gun will shoot the head of a man with one shot.
Carmen gives a slight smile and pulls out her wallet to pay.
Fred
$1,250
Carmen hands him the money. He then hands her a receipt.
Fred
Have a great day!
Carmen
Thanks, you too!
Carmen then leaves the store and starts walking to her car.
EXT. HOLLYWOOD, CA- SNAKE SNAPPER CO.-NIGHT
Carmen is dressed in all black as she approaches the doubled door corporate. She pulls the door and walks in.
IN. SNAKE SNAPPER CO.-NIGHT
From the opposite room, John Wilde emerges out with a smile on his face. He is dressed in a black and white suit.
John Wilde
Carmen! What a pleasant surprise!
Carmen
You invited me?
John Wilde
(laughs)
Yes, yes I am aware! Come!
John leads Carmen to the opposite room where there are two black leather chairs and a long wooden desk.
John Wilde
Please! Take a seat.
Carmen sits arose from John in the black leather chair.
John Wilde
Do you know why you’re here?
Carmen
You say you had proof my dad was a bad guy.
John Wilde
He wasn’t a bad guy, he was one of us.
Carmen
You are a bad guy.
Carmen folds her arms over her chest. John laughs.
John Wilde
Good girl, learning fast I see. Any who, here is what I need to show you.
John opens one of his desk drawers and takes out a small stack of papers. He slides them to Carmen. Carmen picks them up and reads.
Carmen
That’s my father.
John Wilde
Indeed, he worked for me.
Carmen continues to view the papers.
Carmen
My dad killed people?
John Wilde
It’s all there in black and white. He took over his dad’s place when he was assassinated in 1984. He knew what was expected of him and he knew what wasn’t allowed. He signed a 3 year contract where he had to work for me and follow the rules. He let the whole company down. We told him he had to be devoted to his work. That means no kids, no wife, and no religion. Nothing! He tried to break of the contract!
Carmen
I can’t believe this! Why would he lie to me?
John Wilde
I don’t know, he didn’t want to hurt you. He wanted best of both worlds.
Carmen starts tearing up.
John Wilde
I just want you to know the truth. You deserve to know.
Carmen
Thank you for being honest.
John gives Carmen a sight smile and looks away.
John Wilde
Well, that’s about it. You can keep your dad’s information if you wish.
Carmen
Sure…oh, and one more thing.
John Wilde
What shall that be miss?
Carmen reaches in her small handbag and pulls out her gun. She holds it up and cocks it. John Wilde puts his hands up to surrender.
John Wilde
What are you doing?
Carmen
Something I have been afraid of doing for way too long.
John Wilde
I told you the truth!
Carmen
That’s not the point! You killed my father!
John Wilde
We had a deal! He knew that if he broke the rules and disobeyed he could get assassinated.
Carmen
You killed my father!
John Wilde
Please! Put the gun down!
Carmen
&n
bsp; I’m sorry but this is what you deserve.
Carmen pulls the trigger and shoots John in the head. He flies back and in dead. Carmen grabs her dad’s information and walks out the room holding her gun down.
